I come around from what seemed to be a dream and I’m looking at a very worried Falcon. His face has gone white and pale. I’m nervous now. I don’t know what he has revealed, but one thing is clear. He’s visibly broken. Disturbed.
“Falcon?” I press him; I need to know the secret the Ciran was protecting. “Ari…Arikara…” He sounds breathless. I’m becoming more and more concerned about him. “I performed the Fiekan…the secret was how I suspected…protected by a Dija-Ciran. I broke into that…Arikara…?”

I am stunned. I am not sure as to whether I should agree to this. After all, if was a normal Ciran spell placed on me, I would know the answer, and if, like Falcon suspects, I have the gift of Saru, would be able to tell him outright. And if Ashi did place me under a Dija-Ciran, a Fiekan would get us nowhere. I am not sure if I see the point in Falcon placing me under a Fiekan spell. “Arikara, have you ever performed a Fiekan on anyone?” Falcon’s question interrupts my thoughts. I haven’t. I only know about a Fiekan spell because of my lessons. The Shietzma taught me so much. I know many
